Workshop - COLLABORATION BETWEEN POLICY MAKERS AND MAKER/HACKER MOVEMENT
Introduction
This workshop will invite attendees to consider the types of policies which policy makers might develop to attract people working across art and science. The focus will be on stimulating collaboration between policy makers and the maker/hacker movement, including discussion of the ways in which makerspaces can contribute to innovation strategies. This workshop stems from the learning of the Urban Manufacturing Interreg Europe project, a European-wide initiative started in 2017 to help makerspaces thrive and will be delivered by members of the STEAMhouse team.

What is the expected outcome of the workshop?
Notes will be taken in a mind mapping format + the idea is mainly to join with other makers and hackers in order to create a european task force

Workshop - ETHICAL RESEARCH IN THE MAKER/HACKER MOVEMENT
For some years, MHackers have attracted the interest of researchers, as the number of studies on this topic showed. As an effect of this growing interest, Fablabs, and MHackers are more and more often requested to answer toll yet another survey, to further support the analysis with the aim of "better understanding the movement".

Even if some researchers are aware of the spirit of the "common" in the MHackers communities and will give back to the community their results, often they do not play the commons game. In this fourth seminar, we (Vulca) want to start a discussion between MHackers, researchers, and organizations about the ethics of research.

What are the roles of researchers and MHackers? What are their relative positions? What are the desirable patterns of engagement? Who owns the questions, the answers, the data, the interpretations?

Workshop - LEARN HOW TO DEVELOP YOUR OWN FAB'ACCESS SYSTEM
How do you manage your M.Hakerspace access to your members ?
What about the access to the equipment ?
Accessibility and maintenance system is always a burning question.

All makerspaces have different approaches for its management of the shared resources. Some are using ready made management apps like FABMAN, others are trying to configure their own solutions or just improvising and compiling several freeware products like Google calendar, slack and so on.

Smart fablab Sofia (SFL) and Hackerspace Liège (HSL) decided to develop their own platform-website, booking, user and machine management application. What is the result, plus-minus objectives, further goals and possibilities.

The workshop has the aim to present solution already developed by SFL and HSL and some other workable applications, brainstorming over the different management scenarios and provide ideas for custom made solutions.

The workshop members would help the app's to become better and if they like it, they could become early adopters. For those willing to make their own and very custom app, the workshop will help to clear and strengthen their ideas and goals. The work flow consist of 3 steps: - maping and discussing the needs and the challenges for managing a shared machinery space; - overview of existing tools and platforms for organising the fablab life + discussion; - brainstorming and creation of modular managment system from scratch and working over up to 3 case studies of diferent scale makerspaces. Our team is ready to cooperate with other fablabs for improving the concept and the content of the workshop.

This workshop, will gather experience M.Hackers and other participants currently developing their own solutions to share experiences and make a further step together.
